Walls of Wow- 2nd to 5th of April 2026
Thursday April 2, 4:00pm AEDT - Sunday April 5, 5:00pm AEDT
Come explore the Walls of Jerusalem with us! We’ll teach you the skills to feel confident on the trail, and you’ll head home ready to say yes to more overnight adventures.
This iconic Tasmanian landscape is all about wide-open alpine plateaus, ancient pencil pine forests, and mirror-like tarns tucked beneath dramatic dolerite peaks. While the scenery feels big and remote, the walking itself is surprisingly approachable. Once you’ve made the initial spicy climb onto the plateau, the terrain opens up into mostly gentle fundulations with plenty of time to soak it all in. Add in a few optional side trips to nearby peaks and viewpoints, and you’ve got a trip that feels adventurous without being relentless. It’s a must do for anyone chasing a genuine Tassie adventure.
Our journey begins with a steady climb up to Wild Dog campsite, where we’ll spend our first night on the plateau, breathing in crisp alpine air and settling into the rhythm of life on the trail. Day two is a relaxed wander through ancient pine forests and along the central walls. It is on this section that we will have the option to head up one of the best bang-for-buck summits you’ll ever do, Solomon’s Throne..short and super sweeeet. Upon arriving at our next camp, Dixon’s Kingdom, we’ll drop our packs, eat lunch, and then head off on a rewarding side trip up Mt Jerusalem for some truly speccy views across the highlands made complete with some cheeky evening treats.
We’ll start the morning with a delicious breakfast and coffee to get energised before going back the same way we came and getting to see everything from a new perspective with a spot of lunch along the way. This is our longest km day but it’s all downhill babyyy. We'll make our way back to Hobart with full hearts, sleepy legs, and plenty of stories to tell.
Remote, beautiful, and deeply grounding…the Walls of Jerusalem is a perfect step into alpine hiking without the pressure to rush or push beyond your limits.
